Jun 22, 2024 · I’ve been to this area 3 times since last October mostly for whale watching. Try to go out of Moss Landing else you spend a lot of time traveling to where the whales are. I’ve gone 5 times with Blue Ocean Whale Watch & once with Monterey Bay WW. I much preferred Blue Ocean.

Looking for a budget-friendly hotel, not more than 150-180 per night. Close to beach/ ocean view is preferred, not mandatory. We plan to do the 17-mile drive on the 1st day & Bigsur on the 2nd day.
