Jun 4, 2024 · The pinch roller, if slick or hardened, needs to be replaced. Making the surface more rubbery or “grippy” may temporarily help, but if the rubber is hardened it is hardened all the way through. And the roller doesn’t work by gripping the tape…because it’s not a driven roller. It’s a passive idler.

I took apart my Tascam MKiii to fix the power jack. Some solder joints have become loose. It was a bit of a pain to take apart and I'm wondering if there's more I should do with it now that I have it opened up.
All buttuns are not working expect rewind…. I dont have the original power supply but its 9V. Could be the cable the problem….
3 days ago · Take the output from the TASCAM via 3.5mm audio out into an XLR adapter and feed it back to a camera XLR input and feed it back as part of the audio stream via HDMI. There are many points of failure with each solution.
Jun 13, 2024 · You might have a look at the Tascam DR-70D which has a superb preamp for its price. And you might consider the Rode NTG-3 instead of the NTG-4+ - although you have to supply Phantom power to the NTG-3, while the NTG-4+ has its own battery - the NTG-3 sounds superior.
