York County is a historic county in Upper Canada, Canada West, and the Canadian province of Ontario. It was organized by the Upper Canada administration from the lands of the Toronto Purchase and others.
Counties of Ohio. There are 88 counties in the U.S. state of Ohio. Nine of them existed at the time of the Ohio Constitutional Convention in 1802. A tenth county, Wayne, was established on August 15, 1796, and encompassed roughly the present state of Michigan.
Counties are only found in Southern Ontario and are also mostly census divisions. Counties may be as large as regional municipalities in population, but their population density is generally lower (although not as low as in a district.)

Five of New York's counties are each coextensive with New York City's five boroughs. They are New York County , Kings County , Bronx County , Richmond County (Staten Island), and Queens County .
York County's West Riding was divided once in 1816 to form Gore District (later Halton, Wentworth, Waterloo and Wellington Counties) and again in 1851 to form Peel County. Counties, districts and townships in different areas of the province may have shared the same name.
Ontario is a city in Richland County in the U.S. state of Ohio. It was founded in 1834 on the western edge of the Allegheny Plateau, just west of the city of Mansfield. After being incorporated in 1958, Ontario became a heavy manufacturing center because of the Erie Railroad line, and its proximity to Mansfield.
