Victoria Eugenie died in Lausanne on 15 April 1969, aged 81, exactly 38 years after she had left Spain for exile. She was the last surviving child of Princess Beatriceand Prince Henry of Battenberg. The funeral was held in the church of Sacré Coeur, she was buried in the nearby cemetery Bois-de-Vaux in Lausanne.
