Sep 7, 2019 · TD Ameritrade in Canada is called TD Direct Invest. And it lacks many features and options to investor and trader. I choose them because I really like their platform Thinkirswim. But the Canadian version really lacks some important features such like Forex trading. And you have to deposit at least 5000 USD to start trading.

Doesn't integrate with your other TD accounts on EasyWeb. Cannot buy/sell non-TD ETFs. No options trading. No access to the research resources available on TDDI.

They were a completely separate entity that TD has a minority ownership stake in before the company was sold to Charles Schwab. 2 - All major companies are exploitative. Aug 11, 2016 · Td freezes the account under the notion that his account is not accustomed to such transactions and as such are freezing it as it could be fraudulent. Fair Enough, they doing their due diligence. He calls customer service and goes into branch to show id etc. Everything checked out but yet and still, they still withhold funds and freeze his account.

You just need to fill a form from your CDN broker with you US Account info and send it in to them and they take care of everything. As long as you dont sell, you wont trigger any capital gains. +3.
