Feb 28, 2013 · A cult classic of gooey greatness, The Blob follows the havoc wreaked on a small town by an outer-space monster with neither soul nor vertebrae, with Steve McQueen playing the rebel teen who tries to warn the residents about the jellylike invader. Strong performances and ingenious special effects help The Blob transcend the schlock sci-fi and youth delinquency genres from which it ...

Apr 11, 2012 · The Blob is one where I found it to be the exact opposite: it looks far better than I remember. I still feel it is Criterion's worst DVD (though after revisiting the W.C. Fields short films release I ...

Apr 18, 2016 · Picture 9/10. Larry Cohen’s The Stuff receives a new Blu-ray edition from Arrow, presenting it in its original aspect ratio of 1.85:1 on a dual-layer disc. The new 1080p/24hz high-definition presentation comes from a new 2K scan and restoration performed by Arrow, taken from the original camera negative. Arrow again surpasses expectations and ...

  7. Nov 14, 2004 · No, director Irwin S. Yeaworth, Jr., famous for helming the original The Blob in 1958 and The 4D Man in 1959, took a potent, underground play by real life recovering addict John Gimenez, transported the story to the mean streets of the Bronx and populated his cast with ex-junkies.
