   Where is Assiniboine National Park?

   • The park is found west of Banff along the Alberta-British Columbia border and plays host to the “Matterhorn of the Rockies”. While you can visit the park to day hike by hiring one of the helicopters flying into Assiniboine Lodge, the area is almost certainly best explored by foot.

   Where can I Park in Assiniboine Park?

   • There are several large parking lots located inside the Park: West of the Qualico Family Centre (Note: There is no Zoo entry at this location. A footpath connects this lot to the main Zoo lot.) Additional parking is located in smaller parking areas and along roadways throughout Assiniboine Park. Restricted parking areas are clearly posted.
