Geoffrey Percival Orme (10 June 1904 – 21 January 1978) was a British screenwriter for television and film. Orme's prolific film work extended from the 1930s to the 1960s and included a number of the popular Old Mother Riley films starring Arthur Lucan.

Oct 3, 2020 · Geoffrey Orme is an interesting writer, he starts out writing comedy films in the 30’s and 40’s – for he likes of Old Mother Riley, Arthur Askey and Flannagan and Allen. Variety pieces really. Later in the early 60’s, he wrote for some adventure TV series, episodes of ‘Ivanhoe’ and an early episode of ‘The Avengers’.
Geoffrey Orme was born in Ilford, Essex. He started writing for the theatre, often in musical comedy, and moved into film in the mid-Thirties. Amongst many other titles, Orme contributed to several installments in the Old Mother Riley series of comedies.
