David H. Steinberg is an American writer, director, and producer for film and television. He wrote the screenplays for American Pie 2, Slackers, National Lampoon's Barely Legal, and American Pie Presents: The Book of Love and Girls' Rules.

David Steinberg CM (born August 9, 1942) is a Canadian comedian, actor, writer, director, and author. At the height of his popularity, during the late 1960s and mid 1970s, he was one of the best-known comics in the United States.
In 1982 Steinberg made his directorial debut with the feature Paternity (1981) and, the following year, his TV directorial debut with an episode of Newhart (1982). In the 90s, he became the executive producer of the popular CBS-TV Designing Women (1986) and continued to direct.
