Thelma Schoonmaker (/ ˈ s k uː n m eɪ k ər /; born January 3, 1940) is an American film editor, best known for her collaboration over five decades with director Martin Scorsese. She is the recipient of numerous accolades, including three Academy Awards, two BAFTA Awards, and four ACE Eddie Awards.
Thelma Schoonmaker is a three-time Oscar-winning editor and producer who has worked with Martin Scorsese on many films, including The Departed, The Irishman and Killers of the Flower Moon. She was born in Algiers, Algeria, and was married to director Michael Powell.
