Stephen Boyd (born William Millar; 4 July 1931 – 2 June 1977) was a Northern Irish actor of Ulster Scottish descent. He appeared in some 60 films, most notably as the villainous Messala in Ben-Hur (1959), a role that earned him the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture.

Stephen Boyd (4 July 1931 – 2 June 1977) was an actor. He was born in Northern Ireland. He appeared in stage productions in the U.S. and Canada before breaking into English movies in 1955. Four years later, he played "Messala" in Ben-Hur (1959) opposite Charlton Heston.
Stephen P. Boyd is a Samsung Professor in the School of Engineering and a member of the Institute for Computational and Mathematical Engineering at Stanford. He teaches courses on optimization, numerical analysis, and machine learning.

Stephen Boyd, born William Millar, was a Northern Irish/American stage and screen actor. As a teenager he joined the Ulster Group Theatre where he learned the tasks of the theatre. In 1956 he toured North America performing "A Streetcar Named Desire" in the lead role as Stanley Kowalski.
