Liam Stone is a 25-year-old diver who competed at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and is aiming for Birmingham 2022. He overcame injury and mental health challenges to rediscover his love for diving and work as a salesperson.
Birmingham was Liam Stone's third Commonwealth Games appearance, having burst onto the international scene eight years ago in Glasgow where he set a still-standing New Zealand record in the men's 1m. Since then he has seen great success earning several international Grand Prix medals.
