  7. The Laughing Monsters is no literary revelation in the Denis Johnson canon, but it is a good and quick read in the style that I enjoy. The LMs is the story of two damaged, but ridiculously puerile men, Roland Nair, the narrator, and Michael Adriko, his nemesis and soul mate.
