Robert Elkington Wood (June 13, 1879 – November 6, 1969) was an American military officer and business executive. After retiring from the U.S. Army as a brigadier general, Wood had a successful career as a corporate executive, most notably with Sears, Roebuck and Company.

Robert E. Wood was born on January 27, 1919 in the hamlet of Mount Dennis, Ontario (now a suburb of Toronto). He inherited his love of the season from his mother and his love of nature from the Wood family. His father and grandfather were ministers, and Robert was a deeply religious man.
