Aral AG (previously Veba Öl AG) is a German oil company established in 1898 as Westdeutsche Benzol-Verkaufs-Vereinigung GmbH (West German Benzene Marketing Corporation). The company is currently owned by British conglomerate BP [1] after it was purchased in 2002.

1952: B.V.-Aral AG is founded. 1955: The company's first foreign subsidiary is established in Austria. 1962: The company withdraws from B.V. and is renamed Aral AG. 1968: The Aral network reaches its peak with 11,000 gas stations; the company introduces convenience products to its on-site stores.
