Rued Langgaard ( Danish: [ˈʁuðˀ ˈlɑŋˌkɒˀ]; born Rud Immanuel Langgaard; 28 July 1893 – 10 July 1952) was a late-Romantic Danish composer and organist. His then-unconventional music was at odds with that of his Danish contemporaries but was recognized 16 years after his death.
The Danish composer Rued Langgaard was an eccentric who for the most part found himself at odds with his fellow human beings. The Berliner Philharmoniker gave the world premiere of his First Symphony on 10 April 1913.

Rued Langgaard was probably the oddest loner in Danish music. On the one hand a child prodigy and a musical talent beyond the ordinary, on the other hand – perhaps mostly as a result of his upbringing – asocial eccentric, profoundly dependent on his closest surroundings.
