Having unsuccessfully tried his luck in Kandara, Professor André Barret returns to Loudan. His wife resents his failure. One evening, he witnesses a murder. The assassin, Cormière, tries to get rid of him. Barret is wrongly accused and the testimony of his wife suggests a crime of passion.
