Felicia's Journey is a novel written by Irish author William Trevor, first published by Viking Press in 1994. The novel was made into a 1999 film of the same name. The book won the Whitbread Prize and The Sunday Express Book of the Year in 1994. Plot. Felicia, an eighteen-year-old girl from a small town in rural Ireland, finds herself pregnant.
A lonely middle-aged catering manager spends all of his time studying tapes of an eccentric TV chef. Meanwhile, a young woman is making her way from Ireland to find her boyfriend, who moved to England to get a job in a lawnmower factory. On arrival, she makes an early contact with the caterer, who recommends a boarding room to her.
