  3. It’s a book about a wall. And it’s very interesting because people have been talking a lot about the Berlin Wall coming down. The people who pulled it down were children in the sense that they had been children and saw this wall around them as they were growing up.

  8. The Kites Are Flying! Typical Morpurgo brilliance, and easy to read story of young Palestinian boy, and the uneasy relationship with the young Israelis on the other side of the wall. However, I fear this story was conditioned by his contrived visit to Gaza, shown on television, and even the reason the wall is there (to combat suicide missions from the West Bank) is omitted.
