Richard Gordon Emmett (born July 10, 1953) is a vocalist, guitarist, and member of the Canadian hard rock band Triumph. Career [ edit ] In Toronto, during the mid 1970s, several local musicians formed a progressive rock group called Act III.
Rik Emmett was the lead singer/songwriter/guitarist with Triumph on a dozen platinum albums from 1975 to 1988. Twenty more non-platinum solo indie projects followed over the years, ranging across many musical genres.

The band was formed in Toronto, and for much of its existence featured Rik Emmett (guitar, lead/backing vocals), Mike Levine (bass, keyboards, backing vocals), and Gil Moore (drums, lead/backing vocals). This line-up, which recorded the band's first nine studio albums, lasted until 1988, when Emmett left Triumph to pursue a solo career.
