Clay nailed his first national R&B hit with the gut-wrenching “That’s How It Is (When You’re In Love)” during the summer of 1967. Before year’s end, Otis tore into a blistering revival of the storming “Got To Find A Way” as a tribute to his mentor Burrage, who had unexpectedly died of a heart attack in late ‘66.
