Walter Leslie AuCoin (/ oʊ ˈ k ɔɪ n / oh-KOYN; born October 21, 1942) is an American politician. In 1974 he became the first person from the Democratic Party to be elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Oregon's 1st congressional district, since it was formed in 1892.
