Henri Chabot (1616 – 27 February 1655) was a French nobleman and Duke of Rohan (first by marriage and then in his own right). His wife was the heiress Marguerite de Rohan, daughter of Henri, Duke of Rohan. He is also known as Henri de Chabot. Biography. Henri was the son of Charles de Chabot, Seigneur de Saint-Gelais and Henriette de Lur-Saluces.
It is descended from the House of Rohan in female line through the marriage of Marguerite de Rohan (1617-1684) (only daughter and heiress of Henry II, Duke of Rohan) with Henri Chabot (1616-1655), from the eldest branch of the Chabot de Jarnac family, in 1645. The Rohan-Chabot family was founded by Henri Chabot (1616–1655), Lord of Saint-Aulaye (son of Henriette de Lur and her husband Charles Chabot, Lord of Saint-Gelais, Saint-Aulaye, a younger son of the Jarnac family), who married in 1645 Marguerite de Rohan (1617–1684), only child and heir of Henry II of Rohan, first Duke of Rohan (1603).

Jul 2, 2023 · Henri's son Louis de Rohan-Chabot was maintained in 1704 in his name and arms by decision of the Conseil d'État. Later, the head of another branch of the Rohan family was made duc de Rohan-Rohan (as distinguished from Rohan-Chabot) in 1714.
