Ye Jianying ( simplified Chinese: 叶剑英; traditional Chinese: 葉劍英; 28 April 1897 – 22 October 1986) was a Chinese Communist revolutionary leader and politician, one of the Ten Marshals of the People's Republic of China.
Ye Jianying was a Chinese communist military officer, administrator, and statesman who held high posts in the Chinese government during the 1970s and ’80s. Born of a middle-class family, Ye graduated from the Yunnan Military Academy in 1919 and joined Sun Yat-sen’s Nationalist movement shortly.
