The parish school opened in September 1917 with 152 students and became the second Catholic grade school in Marshfield. In 1996, with the development of the middle school, Sacred Heart went from K-8 to K-6.
Sacred Heart School. On the 19th of April 1876, 83 pupils were enrolled into the new school, which was run by Sisters of St. Francis of Penance and Christian Charity. Before the end of that term, the number of pupils had increased to 250.
Our school exists as an educational alternative which values and is committed to serving a diverse population with varying needs and aptitudes. We believe our services must extend beyond the classroom.
The high schools in the Diocese of Columbus are different than what you might find in other Catholic school systems. Ten of the 11 high schools are Diocesean owned and operated. One – St. Charles Preparatory – began as the Diocesan seminary and remains all-male.
