The film is a fictional version of the events that led to the assassination of the Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn on 6 May 2002. The lines between reality and fiction are blurred in 06/05.
06/05 is a drama thriller film that was released in 2004. A journalist is present for the assassination of a popular Dutch politician. The journalist notices some strange things about the assassination, and is shocked that news is improperly reporting on it.
The title is a reference to the date of controversial Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn's assassination in 2002 by an animal rights activist. The film hypothesizes a political conspiracy to off Fortuyn due to American economic interests.
