  3. This website is dedicated to all those fresh face young lads who arrived at Wendover Station in late 1959 on route to No 1 School of Technical Training RAF Halton to begin their 3 years training and become the 92nd Entry of Aircraft Apprentices.

  4. RAF Halton is home to 21 Supported Units across a range of specialities from air activity to defence media operations. The Station also supports 16 RAF Sports Associations as their nominated ‘home’, Wider Defence Tasks, Air Cadet Activity and Senior Leadership Team events.

  8. With ever increasing numbers now volunteering for the RAF, the size of Halton intakes ballooned, in 1936 reaching over 1,000 boys per entry. The 40th Entry, which enlisted in August 1939, was the largest ever with 1,285 boys taking the King’s shilling.
