The Disappearance of Garcia Lorca is a 1996 Spanish-American drama-biographical film directed by Marcos Zurinaga. It is based on a book by Ian Gibson about the life and murder of Spanish poet Federico García Lorca.

Soon after their meeting, Lorca is arrested by the fascists and subsequently disappears. Fifteen years after the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, Ricardo returns to his native Granada as an established journalist to ponder what really happened to the famed, murdered Spanish poet.

In 1954, Spanish-born journalist Ricardo Fernandez (Morales) returns to Granada to look into the death of his idol, poet/playwright Gabriel Garcia Lorca (Garcia). Ricardo's family fled Spain for Puerto Rico in 1936, at the start of the Spanish Civil War, when anti-fascist Lorca was executed.
