  1. Sep 21, 2022 · The Tompkins Table is a yearly ranking report of the Colleges of the University of Cambridge in order of their undergraduate students’ performances in that year’s examinations. All 29 undergraduate colleges have their ranking.

    • Downing College. Situated in the heart of Cambridge on 20 acres that include spacious lawns and gardens, Downing is the newest of the “old” colleges, and is known for its grand, neoclassical architecture.
    • Wolfson College. The first of the Colleges to admit both men and women on an equal basis, Wolfson was established by the University itself as a postgraduate institution.
    • St Catherine’s College. Affectionately known by her students as “Catz,” St. Catherine’s owes its refreshingly open layout to a shortage of money in the 17th century, when only three sides of a grand four-sided court were completed.
    • King’s College. Aptly named for its founder, King Henry VI, who laid the foundation stone for its singularly famous chapel at age 19, King’s remains the biggest and grandest of the Colleges to date.
    • Christ’s. Established in 1437, with about 450 undergrads. Almost cute enough to make up for the academic intensity. Pros. Very quaint and pretty, with lots of green space and gardens.
    • Churchill. Established in 1958, with about 450 undergrads. It's the personality that counts xx. Pros. Has loads of sports facilities, and they're all nearby, as they have more space.
    • Corpus Christi. Established in 1352, with about 250 undergrads. Teeny tiny but very sweet. Pros. One of the most central colleges – really near King’s. Lovely entrance which is really striking when you walk past it on the street.
    • Clare. Established in 1326, with about 450 undergrads. Very aesthetic. Pros. Super central and pretty. Cool bar in the cellars. Famed for very good weekly Clare Ents in the grungy and very aesthetic cellars – people from other colleges often want to come.

  3. Sep 6, 2023 · In the 2020 QS World University Rankings, Homerton was placed in the top 250 universities worldwide, coming in at number 203. It was also placed within the top 200 universities for Student-Staff ratio and International Faculty ratio.

  4. Feb 10, 2009 · Last Friday, 6 February, the University gave approval by Grace to Homerton College to seek a Royal Charter. It is hoped that by the end of the year, the University’s 800th anniversary, this process will be completed to make Homerton a full college of the University.

  6. Homerton College. Homerton is both the largest and the newest College in the University. With a 250-year history, for much of which we were an acclaimed teacher training college, we received our Royal Charter in 2010 and now offer every subject at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
