Lieutenant Dan Taylor is a character in the Forrest Gump novel and ensuing film. He was most likely born in 1942 or 1943. He was Forrest's platoon leader during the Vietnam War in 1967 and later becomes Forrest's shrimp boat partner in the Bubba-Gump Shrimp Company.
Sinise starred as George Milton in the 1992 film adaptation of John Steinbeck 's novel Of Mice and Men. He also directed and produced the film. Sinise received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Lieutenant Dan Taylor in Forrest Gump (1994).
