Princess Charlotte Augusta of Wales (7 January 1796 – 6 November 1817) was the only child of George, Prince of Wales (later George IV), and Caroline of Brunswick. She was expected to ascend the British throne after the deaths of her grandfather, George III, and her father, but died in childbirth at the age of 21, predeceasing them both.

The papers of Princess Charlotte of Wales are a modest collection principally comprised of letters to, from and concerning the Princess, tracing the events of her short life from birth to the tragic aftermath of her untimely death during childbirth.
Princess Charlotte was the only child of George, Prince of Wales who went on to become King George IV. Her monument was erected in the Urswick Chapel inside St George's Chapel and was designed by MC Wyatt and was eventually unveiled in 1824.
