The Opponent (Italian: Qualcuno pagherà, also known as Uppercut Man) is a 1988 Italian sport comedy-drama film directed by Sergio Martino and starring Daniel Greene, Giuliano Gemma and Ernest Borgnine.
Sergio Martino does a boxing movie! Unfortunately the lead, while physically impressive, has all the charisma of a rock and is less likable. Fortunately there's an evil promoter that wants to throw fights, beats his girlfriend, breaks our "hero's" hand, kidnaps the hero's girlfriend, kills his manager and is an all around stinker.
