Though it lacks the THX certification of Anchor Bay's release, Disney's DVD still showcases The Watcher in the Woods with commendable video and audio. Presented in its 1.85:1 original theatrical aspect ratio and enhanced for 16x9 televisions, the film is wonderfully displayed here.
Reviewed by Glenn Erickson. A misconceived Disney horror film made at a time when the studio was at its lowest ebb, The Watcher in the Woods is mostly a stack of problems - casting, story conception, special effects. It has the ring of studio interference, cowardice, and indecisiveness.
Mar 14, 2002 · I wouldn't suggest The Watcher In The Woods as a purchase to new viewers, but to those well acquainted with the movies and looking forward to riding the wave of nostalgia, this DVD is highly recommended.
