  8. I always solve this differently. fill up the 3 gallon jug and pour it into the [empty] 5 gallon jug (3 gallon jug = 0 gallons, 5 gallon jug = 3 gallons) fill up the 3 gallon jug again and pour it into the 5 gallon jug until it's full (3 gallon jug = 1 gallon, 5 gallon jug = 5 gallons)
