Sex Education is a British teen sex comedy drama television series created by Laurie Nunn for Netflix. It follows the lives of the teenagers and adults in the fictional town of Moordale as they contend with various personal dilemmas, often related to sexual intimacy.
Season 4 was officially confirmed to be the final one on July 5, 2023. It is the only season to feature Ruby and Isaac in every episode. This season marks comebacks of some characters that were absent in last season (s); Roz Marchetti, Sean Wiley and Harriet Anders.
The Wiley family consists of five members: Erin and her three children; the eldest Sean and middle Maeve (from her relationship with unnamed partner) and youngest Elsie (from the relationship with James), plus unnamed ex-partner of Erin and father of Sean and Maeve, who left the family.
- Gillian Anderson plays Jean. Who is Jean? Otis’s sex therapist mother is mischievous, promiscuous and laid back in many ways – but isn’t quite as hands off about parenting as she first appears.
- Asa Butterfield plays Otis. Who is Otis? Jean’s teenage son is a little shy and awkward, and definitely isn’t in with the cool kids at school – that is until he realises that his accidental expertise in sex could prove lucrative and make him popular.
- Ncuti Gatwa plays Eric. Who is Eric? Otis’s irrepressible gay best friend Eric is always at his side, and is keen to get the pair of them in with the most popular kids in school.
- Emma Mackey plays Maeve. Who is Maeve? A bad-girl at school with a troublesome home life and money worries, Maeve realises how lucrative Otis’s sex expertise could be, and persuades him to set up the clinic with her.

- Asa Butterfield - Otis Milburn. Returning to the world of Sex Education is its main character, Otis Milburn, played by Asa Butterfield. Throughout the first three seasons, Otis built a reputation among his peers as the school's sex expert since he and Maeve started a sex clinic to help their schoolmates.
- Emma Mackey - Maeve Wiley. As portrayed by Emma Mackey, Maeve Wiley is Otis' love interest in Sex Education who helps him launch Moordale High's sex clinic.
- Gillian Anderson - Jean Milburn. Portraying Otis' protective mother Jean Milburn in Sex Education is veteran actress Gillian Anderson. Jean is a well-known sex therapist who had a past relationship with her plumber, Jakob.
- Ncuti Gatwa - Eric Effiong. Eric Effiong is Otis' best friend, and he is portrayed by Ncuti Gatwa. Aside from his friendship with Otis, Eric had his own romantic storylines in the first three seasons.
