Jul 12, 2023 · Members of the Manson “family” arrived at the Hollywood Hills home of Sharon Tate on Aug. 8, 1969, where they stabbed, beat and shot to death the young actress and her friends — celebrity hairstylist Jay Sebring, coffee heiress Abigail Folger and aspiring screenwriter Wojciech Frykowski.
- Susan Atkins. Atkins was convicted and sentenced to death for her part in the killings known collectively as the Tate-LaBianca murders. Like Manson himself, her sentence was commuted to life in prison in 1972 when California's Supreme Court abolished the death penalty.
- Patricia Krenwinkel. Krenwinkel, now 69, has become California's longest-serving female prisoner, after admitting her part in the killings aged just 21.
