Benny Chan Muk-sing (simplified Chinese: 陈木胜; traditional Chinese: 陳木勝; pinyin: Chén Mùshèng; 24 October 1961 – 23 August 2020) was a Hong Kong filmmaker. Chan was nominated for Best Director six times at the Hong Kong Film Awards, include Big Bullet, Heroic Duo, New Police Story, Connected, The White Storm and Raging Fire.

Aug 24, 2020 · Celebrities have taken to social media to mourn the death of veteran Hongkong director Benny Chan (not to be confused with the Hongkong actor), who passed away yesterday (Aug 23) morning following a battle with nose cancer. He was 58 years old.
Director at the Hong Kong Film Awards and finally won the award in 2022 for Raging Fire (2021), his last film. In August 2020, Chan died of illness in Hong Kong.
