The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI; Irish: Údarás Craolacháin na hÉireann) is a former broadcasting authority which regulated both public and commercial broadcasting sector in Ireland. It was established in 2009, effectively replacing the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) (Irish: Coimisiún Craolacháin na hÉireann).
The BAI is the regulator of broadcasting in Ireland. Our key functions are: licensing radio and television services additional to those provided by RTÉ, TG4, the Houses of the Oireachtas Channel and the Irish Film Channel

Aug 23, 2021 · In 2020, the broadcaster said TG4, Screen Ireland and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) Sound and Vision fund should share public funding “equivalent” to that received by RTÉ.
The series was in development from Element for RTÉ One in 2020, and it was confirmed that December that the project would receive funding from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland. In August 2021, it was announced BritBox had commissioned The Dry from Element in association with Screen Ireland, ITV Studios and RTÉ.
