In 2023, Cereals Canada released seven provincial reports detailing the economic impact of Canadian wheat, barley, durum, and oats in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes.
Grown by farmers across our country, wheat, barley, and oats are planted on over 14 million hectares each year, producing almost 45 million tonnes of food. The direct economic impact of these crops is significant at $25.9 billion per year.
