Chapel program St. John's Chapel. St. John's Chapel opened in 1900. It was the gift of William Amory Gardner, one of the school's original teachers. It was designed by Henry Vaughan, who also designed Washington National Cathedral and the New Chapel at St. Paul's School.
For the first time since the 1950s, a faculty member has been ordained as an Episcopal priest in St. John’s Chapel, right on the Groton School campus.

Jun 20, 2023 · The Gothic Revival St. John’s Chapel at the Groton School was built in 1900. The architect, Henry Vaughan’s design here is a departure from the common “Victorian Gothic” style. The interior is finished with bare stone akin to medieval architecture.
