(Roger Corman hired Barbara Peeters to direct the film but reportedly brought in a male director to film the movie’s more explicit scenes.)
Jul 31, 2022 · There is a cute blink and you miss it gag where the dummy continues to follow the monster attack with his eyes after the ventriloquist has been slaughtered. Nice fun gag in a movie that really isn’t known for its subtleness.
Jul 19, 2014 · It probably looked a lot like what the humanoids do to the town. I actually liked this movie a lot. It was creepy and it didn’t shy away from what invaders would do. And it’s (hopefully) the only movie I’ve ever seen that used a ventriloquist dummy in foreplay.
Oct 7, 2020 · I mean, this is the type of movie in which a ventriloquist dummy inexplicable becomes sentient to witness a double homicide and it's presented as the most natural of occurrences. It's difficult to take too seriously.
