Mar 27, 2023 · If you can’t get a campsite at Esker Lakes your next best option is Kap Kig Iwan Provincial Park which is about an hour southeast. Alternatively, you may be able to find accommodation in the nearby town of Kirkland Lake. You can find some options here. Book Late – Many Ontario campsites book up early.
You can do a trail, go canoeing or kayaking, go swimming and get a great sleep! The closest town with amenities is Kirkland Lake, which is a 30 min drive right on the highway. Larder Lake is a decent sized town with amenities at a 30 min drive left on the highway.

The two backcountry campsites in the park are on Lulu Lake. They serve as a basecamp for exploring other small lakes in the area through day trips. The main canoe routes are well marked with portage and campsite signs.
