- Asuna. She can often play second fiddle to Kirito, but that doesn't diminish how strong she is. Had it not been for her intervention, Kirito never would have defeated Heathcliff (or survived Kuradeel) and her skill with a rapier is untouched in the series, making her one of the strongest around.
- Kuradeel. Strength wasn't necessarily always Kuradeel's MO, much preferring to use his shrewd and conniving intellect. It's that brain that helped him take out Godfree and a few other knights.

Asuna is told to (and I paraphase) "Not hesitate when it comes to joining a Guild, because there are limits to what a solo player can do. no matter how strong they are."
