The second phase of Viacom Inc. ( / ˈvaɪəkɒm / ⓘ VY-ə-kom or / ˈviːəkɒm / VEE-ə-kom; a portmanteau of Video & Audio Communications), was an American multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate with interests primarily in film and television.
Paramount Global has owned and operated several animation studios since its founding on March 16, 1952 as the original Viacom, throughout the first and second incarnation and CBS Corporation (previously Westinghouse Electric Corporation); The two companies merged into one on December 4, 2019.

Paramount Media Networks (founded as MTV Networks in 1984 and known under this name until 2011; thereafter known as Viacom Media Networks until 2019; then known as ViacomCBS Domestic Media Networks until 2022) is an American mass media division of Paramount Global that oversees the operations of many of its television channels and online brands.

2005-2019. On New Year's Eve 2005 (December 31st), the first Viacom split into two companies: the second Viacom and CBS Corporation. The split was conducted with the first Viacom spun off its cable networks and its film subsidiary Paramount Pictures to the other company and renaming itself as CBS Corporation.
