Students learn through work on productions—whether in the rehearsal hall or shop–as well as through classwork in acting and directing, dance technique, choreography, design, playwriting, voice and movement, history, dramatic literature, performance art, theatre education, and technical theatre.
Wake Forest Department of Theatre and Dance is a department within Wake Forest University which instructs students in theatre and dance and puts on four productions each school season and maintains the university's theatre. The department is based at the Scales Fine Arts Center on campus.

Select the remaining courses from offerings at the 200 level or higher listed in theatre, or select one of the following: DCE 202 History of Dance. DCE 203 20th-Century Modern Dance History. DCE 223 Dance Composition. A minimum GPA of 2.0 in all theatre courses attempted is required for graduation.
