Apr 30, 2023 · Hey folks, I have been offered a used Tascam DM 4800, seller says that everything is working. It has a IF-AN/DM card also. Any tips on what to check for when I go to inspect the item next week? I will (Hopefully) be using it with an iMac on High Sierra and Logic.
Feb 3, 2013 · DM4800+X48+RA1000. Jan 25, 2023. #1. I am sorry to say I am giving up on my DM. I have loved this board since I took it out of the box. Used mainly as an interface/control surface for pro tools. I have upgraded my Mac to an M2 silicone.
Jun 12, 2017 · Is it still worth it? I have an RME and a Ferrofish and i'm pretty happy with my setup, however a nice mixer would surely be a cool addition to my workflow. I understand that the latest drivers are from 2012 so they are pretty old. Here are the two scenarios i would use this for:
Oct 11, 2012 · So you could use the insert ins or buy an analog card, and route from there directly to the firewire card. You could keep the workflow you have and have the signal flow you want, without too much money or time being required.
Sep 30, 2023 · If you're looking to go digital check out the Yamaha LS9 as I believe it's in the same price range. I have a Tascam interface that I like but when it comes to consoles themselves Yamaha is really the leader.

TASCAM has a knack for observing trends in audio production and coming up with products that address at once, all of the issues that audio professionals face. The DM-4800 is just such a product.
It is a digital 64-channel console with 48 channels with full process equalizer, compressor, gate etc ... Works by layer 24 and has 12 auxiliary buses. You can work up to the 96-bit 24 khz. The type of synchronization can be MTC or LTC.
