Oct 27, 2023 · Faxe Limestone Quarry is the largest man-made hole in Denmark, and it reveals 63 million-year-old limestone formations. Formed from 900 years of lime production, it spans 110 hectares, which is the same as 140 football fields.
While it is widely known for its 63-million year old fossilized coral reef, Fakse boasts of plenty of other entertaining activities and interesting must-see places enough to fill a weekend getaway. For nature lovers, Fakse offers a diverse landscape worth exploring either on foot or by bike.
