Town of Colchester. This suburban town is 30 minutes south to the shoreline or 30 minutes north to Hartford. Colchester spans almost 50 miles in area with several state parks and farmlands to enjoy. Salmon River State Forest offers hiking, hunting, fishing and picnicking.

Colchester is located in eastern Connecticut, approximately 30 minutes from Hartford, the state capital. It provides the best of both worlds, being close to the beaches and the mountains. It is also just two hours from both Boston and New York City.
The Town of Colchester, Connecticut was founded in 1698 at a point just north of the present Town Green at Jeremiah's Farm on land purchased by Nathaniel Foote from the Sachem of the Mohegan Indians.
