New Bedford (Massachusett: Accushnet) [3] is a city in Bristol County, Massachusetts, United States. It is located on the Acushnet River in what is known as the South Coast region. Up through the 17th century, the area was the territory of the Wampanoag Native American people.

- Fort Taber Park. At the very tip of the peninsula there’s a beautifully landscaped 50–acre park looking out over Buzzards Bay. This has more than a mile of ocean waterfront, but is also imbued with a lot of mostly military history.

New Bedford, city, Bristol county, southeastern Massachusetts, U.S. It lies at the mouth of the Acushnet River on Buzzards Bay, 54 miles (87 km) south of Boston. The site, settled by Plymouth colonists in 1652, was originally part of Dartmouth. A fishing community was established there in 1760.
