Apr 14, 2024 · Our Review. The plot of Empire Queen: The Golden Age of Magic is great, but it is a very formulaic fantasy story. We’ve got a chosen one, who also happens to be a princess; an evil queen, who has outlawed magic; and a prophecy. It’s basically the female-led version of BBC television series Merlin.
